- Today was a pretty boring work day, to start off with. Nothing terribly exciting was happening and we're all just kind of in this post-production, summer slump and it sucks. But around 3:30ish, the power went out and this wasn't anything unusual - normally, it pops right back on. But TODAY, the power stayed out and we were evacuated. There were many mentions of somebody cooking a cheesy pita and "Ryan Started The Fire" was stuck in my head for the rest of the afternoon (I tried to get a game going of Desert Island: Movies happening, but it didn't take). I mean, it got to the point of fire trucks showing up, so obviously, something was up. But we were allowed back in the building, even though the power wasn't on and at 4, we were allowed to leave. Best thing out of this situation: power is STILL out at work, so no one has to go in tomorrow. Worst thing: We have to work from home. I've never had to work from home before, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited at the prospect of working in my pajamas all day, because that's going to happen for sure.

- I feel so behind on livejournal. I didn't check it once last week and then I only popped in on Sunday to reply back to some comments, so yeah. That needs to be fixed.

- This past Sunday when I probably should've been packing, I decided to clean out my DVR and busted through the last seven episodes of Castle. And even though I knew the BIG shocker at the end, there were still some twists that I had no idea about; two months behind on tv, whoo?Collapse )

- Things I found that I love: Zooey Deschanel & Jean Ralphio from Parks & Rec singing "You Belong To Me" from The Jerk on the ukulele and also <http://www.youtube.com/hellogiggles#p/u/8/ibpzu-ldvfc">Zooey Deschanel singing a karaoke version of Crazy by Patsy Cline and it is presumably, awesome</a>

I was going to wait until everything was official to post this, but I'm leaving to up north this weekend and honestly, I didn't want to have to wait until Tuesday night. But....drumroll please....

My friend Lora (who I guess is Roommate Lora now) and I have been talking about living together for over a year and we had to wait until I was done with school and got a job and all that kind of grown up stuff. Well, graduation came around, and my internship turned into a job (not full time with benefits, but oh well) and we were looking at apartments and houses to rent. But, to back up a little bit, my cousin Heather got engaged to her boyfriend over Mother's Day weekend. Fast forward to Father's Day weekend and she's telling my mom "Hey, why don't Breanne and her friend rent my house?"

BAM SAID THE LADY. We are renting the most adorable house in a really safe neighborhood (i mean, there's an elementary school in the sub, so cops patrol all the time PLUS tiny cute children!). Our move in date is the first full weekend in August and I can't believe how fast it happened! I was really afraid that there was a possibility I wouldn't be able to afford living on my own, but I did my budget (ALL BY MYSELF, I MIGHT ADD. At least I can add and divide) and it's totally doable. The only bummer is that I can't quit my daycare job like I wanted to, but in all honesty, it's easy money and I work there two Saturdays a month for 8 hours total. I can totally keep doing that for an extra $75.

I'm officially calling the funk over, and it's about time too. My summer is way too exciting to be moping around and thinking about the things that are going wrong in my life. I've got weddings coming up (both in and just attending), concerts (Peter Frampton! He's doing Frampton Comes Alive for the 35th anniversary, omg), Harry Potter part 2, and now house parties to plan (Nails & Margs party, chili cooking party, housewarming party, 80s bonfire party, bachelorette party...um holy crap).

So yay! Before I left Heather's house today, I got down on the ground and hugged it. HOUSE HUG!

- I started typing up this huge post about two days ago, about how crappy it was that I "promised" to write in here more and then didn't and why I couldn't write in here. But it turned into this huge, long dramatic story and really, I could probably get away with bullet points and be succinct rather than boring you guys (and myself) with all the gory details

still i'll put it under a cut anywayCollapse )

But then after that weekend, it got better. It really, really did. I confronted my friend I was having drama with and we were able to get through it with no fighting, no arguing. She apologized, had no idea she had caused me to be so upset. Then stuff at work started to get better; our production season started slowing down, the stress was starting to go away. And other things are working out too, but I'm going to save that for another lj post because I want to make it official before I start saying anything.

So, things are looking up!

- Oh hey, want to know the friend drama? BECAUSE IT'S REALLY, REALLY RIDICULOUS. And I'll put this under another cut, because it's a good story, but I'm def gonna have to explain some things in detail;

drama with my friends involving Paul McCartney. Yes, SIR PAUL MCCARTNEYCollapse )

- My parents went to go see Larry Crowne last night and came back saying not to see it, which is pretty disappointing. Apparently, the best part of Larry Crowne was all the press that Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks have been doing because when they pop up on my tv, it's awesome! But the movie, not so much :/

- GUYS. FINALS ARE ALMOST OVER. And today was basically terrible; I spent all day in my pajamas, in bed with my laptop and I'm at the point where if I don't see my laptop for a couple days, I'd be okay with that. But anyway, the course of my day consisted of dicking around on tumblr/facebook/twitter and then spending the last three hours writing a 7 page paper and 2 750 word essays. Like literally, those essays? I wrote them both in an hour. I was so delirious with trying to get the essays done on time, I just pray that they make sense. And at one point, I referenced the Kardashian sisters. Guys, it's an essay for a Brit Lit class, so obviously it makes sense to reference those morons. The essay was about highbrow vs lowbrow art and I was trying to make it relevant to today...I don't even know. I pray my professor even knows who the Kardashian sisters are otherwise...well, this will end well.

- I'm not even going to cut my Glee recap because I basically just have this thought: I think I might be over Glee. I found this episode really boring and almost everybody irritated me. I'm not sure if it's Glee-fatigue or real life/finals fatigue. So...yeah.

Hawaii 5-0 1x11: in which i would never admit this to the producers, but holy cow this episode was totally worth the two week waitCollapse )

- Tumblr is down during finals which is probably the best thing that could've happened to me, but now there are reports that they're slowly reopening blogs and...I just have to avoid it. If I don't avoid Tumblr, I will never get these next two papers done. As it is, it took me 3 days to write a tiny 3 page paper because as stated in my subject line, I am the Procrastination Queen. Oh god self, look at your life, look at your choices.

- Speaking of which, I am so utterly exhausted that driving on the freeway today was probably not my best decision. Saturday night I stayed up until 5 am writing fic (which is exciting in and of itself because I haven't written anything decent in over a year and then of course during finals I get bitten by the bug) and then proceeded to get three hours of sleep. It would've been five hours, but I randomly woke up at 8 am and thought...eh, what the hell. Sunday was spent by sitting at a local theatre watching a production of White Christmas which was okay and ended by letting "snow" (actually bubble clusters of soap) fall on the audience and my mother and I were directly under it and we were pretty much blinded by soap for the play's finale. After that, I took a GLORIOUS 2 hour nap and then stayed up until 5 am again, trying to write my paper and read Hawaii 5-0 fic and ended up getting four more hours of sleep.

All of which lead to today where I finally finished my paper and then I had to physically drive it up to school to turn into my professor's office instead of just emailing it to her because grading papers on the computer would've killed her eyesight (her reasoning). Which is perfectly understandable, but when you're working a grand total of 9 hours of sleep of the course of three days, it's not wise to be taking the freeway. Luckily, I made it in one piece due to the sanity saving Black Keys - Brothers album and the promise of getting a giant Peppermint Mocha as a reward on my way home.

Currently, I have a take home test to do (answer 2 questions, 750 words apiece), and 8 page term paper (where my bullshitting skills need to come in serious hand), and then actually study for an exam final for Wednesday (the papers are due tomorrow by 9 pm at the latest). All in all to say: IS IT FUCKING THURSDAY YET. Thursday, glorious of days, where I will be able to sleep like a hibernating bear and then reward myself with a hair appointment that's at 6 pm at night. I'm so hyped up about it that Jessie from Saved By the Bell keeps running through my head; I'M SO EXCITED! I'M SO SCARED! because the clusterfuck of the next couple of days will be taking a serious toll on me.

- T minus 3.5 hours until Hawaii 5-0. Going without a new episode last week was a special kind of torture I realized I do not want to have in my life (I can't even fathom how I'm going to handle summer hiatus).

- Some exciting real life news: I got asked to be a bridesmaid! One of my best friends is getting married and she asked me tonight and ahhhhhh. Very, very excited and happy for them :)

- And now fandom news because OH MY GOD. Awhile ago, there was news circling that Jonah Hill wanted to do a 21 Jump Street movie (and if you know anything about me, you know that I love anything 21JS). A few minutes ago, I found this article from EW.com;

Channing Tatum is circling Sony’s movie remake of 21 Jump Street, according to Deadline. Jonah Hill has already committed to star, based on a story he conceived with Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs the World), and Phil Lord and Chris Miller (who co-directed Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs) are set to direct.

I mean...does this not sound like the most ridiculous movie already? Who would play what? I have so many ideas for fantasy casting for this movie and sorry to say, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum aren't necessarily apart of my ideal (regardless, I will still be watching the hell out of this movie)

- Glee & Psych this week. WHAT. There was a lot of ridiculous going on in tv this week, folks. A LOT.

- I have to write at least 12 journal entries for my class tomorrow night and I haven't even started yet. Maybe on my degree under English, I can just write Procrastination in parenthesis. I mean, I AT LEAST double majored in the two.
